I was born in Lindesberg, Sweden in September 1979. After a couple of years of swedish influence my family moved back to Finland, first to Ylistaro and later to Ähtäri, which obviously plays a big role in this piece of rock n´roll history. I grew up in the midst of guitars (father being such a musician he is) and 60´s / 70´s music. So it was inevitable that the offspring will be affected by it in a way or another. Myself, Tuukka and Andy go way back to 1986 when we started school together. Our class was very musical and after winning a childrens music contest in 1988, me and Tuukka were interviewed to a local paper and to a query concerning our future plans, we answered " we will start a rockband ". No shit... It was 1990 when i remember swapping my not so promising career as a hockey player to a guitar.Me and Tuukka learned to play "Wind of change"(The scorpions) That time MTV still showed some decent music during the daytime, and one video that really made a difference in my life was Bon jovi´s "Blaze of glory". I remember thinking that the drummer( Kenny Aronoff he was ) on that track was making cool accents on the ride cymbal, even though I was guitarist to become and understood nothing about such things yet. But it wasn´t half the cool what Nicko McBrain did on "Holy Smoke" (which was, belive it or not, regular on daytime MTV. Could you see that happening nowadays?). That started my heavymetal heavyuser period which has been going on ever since. And needless to say that Nicko is still the best drummer ever. Before Noumena I played in Falmers, Emulaattori, Cadavers and Inferion. There are some nice homevideo´s of us playing at the age of 14 and they will be released on DVD anytime soon, aren´t they guys? (Yeah, sure. -webmaster) Thank goodness i found drums at some point along that way. They are nice and I like to beat things. The list of early influences would go on forever, so I dont even bother. Nowadays I can enjoy almost any music, be it Jazz or Hungarian folkmusic. it all adds in the end anyway.
